Whizz Kid Entertainment to produce Being… for T4
Independent production company Whizz Kid Entertainment has been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a broadcast pilot for a new entertainment series called Being… on T4. Fun, stylish and dripping with celebrity access, it is a show for the celebrity-hungry audience of the Noughties.
By using the most up to date technology, Being… will let audiences get a glimpse of how celebrities really live. A pin-hole camera fixed at eye level will be attached to the artist to create original, eclectic and intimate content. Whether the subject is appearing on a TV show, playing a gig, getting a fake tan, meeting fans, visiting a celebrity friend, walking their dogs or spending the day at Disneyland with their Gran the show will capture a colourful and unique day all shot through the actual eyes of the celebrity.
Due to be aired on 24th May at 1pm on T4 Sunday, the pilot features The Saturdays and Alesha Dixon. Whizz Kid Entertainment are currently in discussions with several brands to sponsor a series.
Lisa Chapman, Managing Director at Whizz Kid Entertainment comments: “Being… proves again how Whizz Kid Entertainment is versatile and creative in developing fresh entertainment formats. The Nokia Green Room broke new ground combining live music with ‘reality’ style TV and we hope Being… will do the same for the ‘celebrity access’ format with it’s unique ‘point of view’ twist. We are delighted to be working with Channel 4 again and are working with them to secure an exciting series sponsor.”
Neil McCallum, Head of T4 & Music at Channel 4 comments: “Being… looks set to give unprecedented and intimate access to two of the UK’s hottest musical acts, Alesha Dixon & The Saturday’s. Through state of the art technology, we aim to get an honest snapshot of what it is to be a popstar on the 2009 promo trail, as well as seeing them away from the limelight and being themselves.”
Whizz Kid Entertainment was launched in 2006 and is owned jointly by Ingenious Media Active Capital Limited (IMAC) and former Initial CEO Malcolm Gerrie. The company was created to produce top quality programmes across a wide-range of genres including Entertainment; Factual Entertainment; Events and Music and has experienced in-house specialists in each field.
