Katherine joined Whizz Kid at its inception having worked with CEO Malcolm Gerrie and MD Lisa Chapman for several years at Endemol UK. Since then she has Executive Produced over 40 series and event specials for Whizz Kid heading up some of the company’s biggest and most high-profile output.
Prior to Whizz Kid, Katherine was an in-house executive producer at Initial (part of Endemol) and worked on many major shows including fashion and music extravaganza ‘Fashion Rocks’ for The Prince’s Trust (Channel 4), ‘Harry Potter at the Castle: Magic at Midnight’ (ITV1) and Amnesty International’s ‘We Know Where You Live’ – a comedy and music special from Wembley Arena with Eddie Izzard (Channel 4).
With a background in ad sales, Katherine is also an expert in branded content and has launched several ad funded series at Whizz Kid including ‘The Nokia Green Room’ (Channel 4), and two series of the fact ent series ‘Being N-Dubz’ also for Channel 4 sponsored by Adidas. She has also produced branded content for Jack Daniels, MSN, Yahoo! and Shell.
Katherine has worked closely with BAFTA for the past eighteen years on the ‘EE British Academy Film Awards’, helping to launch it on the BBC and taking it worldwide. She has also produced the British Academy Television Awards for the BBC for the last ten years and she collaborates with BAFTA Productions on the prime time ‘Life On Screen’ specials for BBC2 which to date have featured Julie Walters, Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry.
As well as movies, Katherine’s other passion is music: she has produced a huge number of music festivals including ‘Bestival’ (Sky Arts HD, 3D and Sky1) and ‘Safeway’s Picnic in the Park’ (ITV1) not to mention major live concerts with acts such as U2, Elton John and Bjork.
